I’m a Vancouver-based photographer who approaches the everyday with a fresh eye to find both beauty and unusual scenes in the familiar.
In my fine art practice, I use techniques such as multiple exposure, fragmentation and abstraction. My urban exploration and street photography seeks out scenes that others may miss and looks for humour in daily life. Throughout my work runs a deep appreciation for colour and structure.
A long-time passionate amateur photographer, I recently decided to devote myself fully to visual art and took the one-year professional photography program at VanArts here in Vancouver. I graduated with honours in September 2019.
Since graduating, my work has been exhibited in the US, Canada and Europe, and has received a number of honours, including from the renowned 14th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards (Abstract category).
Before moving full-time into photography, I had a 20-year career as a journalist and news executive in the UK, US and Canada for organizations including the BBC, CBC and Microsoft where I developed and ran digital news services.
A British-Canadian citizen, I hold a first-class degree from the University of Oxford in Modern Languages and Literature. I love to travel and am passionate about many forms of art, especially music. I find inspiration in the urban and natural beauty of Vancouver, where I call home.
I’m available for exhibitions, commissions or prints. Please take a look at my website or Instagram to get an idea of my work. Thank you!
